Wife and Lover Kill Husband, Body Mutilated and Dumped in Drain and Ganges River
Uttar Pradesh, India – A woman and a man believed to be her lover were arrested by police in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, after authorities uncovered the murder of the woman’s husband, which involved mutilation and the disposal of the victim’s body at two separate locations.
The incident took place at the victim’s residence in Uttar Pradesh. According to police investigations, the husband was killed by his wife with the assistance of another man who had a close personal relationship with her. Authorities suspect the murder was carried out deliberately and involved more than one perpetrator from the outset.
After confirming that the victim had died, the two suspects proceeded to dismember the body using a grinding machine (grinder). The act of mutilation was intended to eliminate evidence and make it easier to dispose of the remains without immediate recognition by local residents.
Police stated that some body parts were dumped into a drainage channel, while the remaining parts were taken to the Rajghat area and thrown into the Ganges River. The disposal of the remains at two different locations was allegedly intended to obstruct the investigation and complicate the identification process.
The case came to light following a missing person report, which was later linked to the discovery of human body parts in both a drain and the river. Law enforcement officers then conducted forensic examinations, gathered witness statements, and scrutinized the victim’s personal relationships, eventually leading them to the victim’s wife and her alleged lover.
Preliminary questioning indicates that the motive behind the murder was an illicit relationship between the female suspect and her partner. The victim was reportedly viewed as an obstacle to their relationship, prompting the perpetrators to resort to violence to resolve the conflict.
Both suspects have now been formally named as suspects and taken into custody. They face charges of premeditated murder and destruction of evidence under India’s criminal law. Police say the investigation is ongoing as they complete the case file before submitting it to the court.
